Location: Cape Town
It was in 2016 when the professionals of Container Rental and Sales were asked to transform a neglected courtyard into a bustling outdoor bar and dining area. ‘Villa 47’ was the name of the project and old shipping containers were decided upon to help conjure up this commercial property.
Flaunting the eclectic design (with some industrial touches) beautifully, this successfully completed project is now an up-and-running restaurant and bar which add to the cosmopolitan vibe of Cape Town.
Thanks to clever planning and proper execution, the interiors of the containers are fully functional to aid in the business' daily operations.
A derelict courtyard, which presented more than adequate legroom and a promising location, was where it all happened.
An opening in the side of the one container, plus a wealth of other additions and amendments, ensured that an old shipping container was transformed into a fully functional business.
A metal staircase connects the ground floor with the top storey.
Thanks to dedicated experts and a commitment to first-rate results, three 6-metre shipping containers were successfully altered to become a bar, an office, and a storage container.
The shipping containers had to be craned over another building and placed into the courtyard in order to create the exterior socialising area’s base.
