Necessary items and tools for the project:-
1. Wood slats: The number of slats and their
dimensions depends on the size of your bed.
2. Screws for wood and walls.

6. Varathane Polyurethane.

3. Paint brush or clean lint-free clothes.
4. Sand discs of 120 grits.
5. Beam compass.

Prepare Headboard Structure
First of all, it is necessary to prepare the structure of headboard by assembling slats. It is very important to assemble the slats in a proper manner as shown in the image one!
As per the above image, it is clear that what is needed to be done! Follow the below mentioned steps:-
1) Cut the wooden slats according the size of bed.
2) Afterwards, you need to make the surface smooth. For that, sand the slats with 120 grit sandpaper into the direction of wood grains.
3) Assemble the slats with the help of screws and fevicol as show in the image two.
Give a round shape: By using beam compass, make an arch in order to five a round shape to your headboard. Once arch is made, you need to cut that by using jigsaw. It is recommended to use fine tooth blade for proper cutting. Check the image three.
Beautify and Protect Your Headboard
Stain: Wood is a porous material, therefore it is possible to give a desired color to headboard by penetrating wood stains. You can also paint that but stains will give a natural look! Checkout the video for how to stain wood. It will give an idea what you are going to do exactly. It is recommended to use good quality of stains like Varathane fast dry wood stains.
Protect: After staining, you need to protect your board from dirty stains and scratches. Due to the same reason, it is recommended to apply Varathane polyurethane which is available in gloss, semi-gloss, and stain finishes.
NOTE: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions before staining and protection.
Install Your Headboard
The final step and you are done! First of all just install the hangman hangers on the back side and then take the necessary steps for installation. You can get the idea from the image four.
