The scheme is a contemporary side extension to a ground floor maisonette in Clapham Common, London.
The design makes maximum use of the underused 1.5m wide side return patio. A new party wall was constructed following close consultation with the neighbours. The resulting construction is a single skin brick wall, in yellow London stock bricks, tied to a steel and timber frame structure. The Oak timber battens form the cladding to the both the inside and outside. Sliding folding doors were used to reinforce the connection from indoor to outdoor, bringing a small slice of Mediterranean style living into the heart of London
