This unique pod was conceived through a series of workshops with a class of year 6 pupils from Peter Hill’s School.
It showcased the work of 20 primary school groups who were introduced to 20 London cultural institutions along the River Thames. The resulting multimedia pieces produced with BBC 21CC included: short films, podcasts and animations about their experiences.
The pod was constructed as a flat-pack series of plywood units that were bolted together on site. The dome roof is completed with a cone of inverted mirrors which act as a periscope. This allows visitors to look up and gain a 360degree view of the area.
