SCULPTURE & DESIGN has realized all the set-up of this house (floors, bathrooms, furnitures and lights) that is located in a historic building from the early twentieth century in the old town centre of Moscow, designed by an Architect of Moscow.
The Palace has been preserved with original moldings , wall paintings and the ancient staircase wrought iron railing made in.
The hosts asked to redesign the interior on classic style contaminating with Baroque elements, but however the result had to be in calm and relaxing shades and colors.
The color palette was suggested looking at a picture that was in the landlady’s collection. This is a classical landscape: winter, snowy forest, different shades of gray and a bit of gold.
The painting, hung in the lobby, has defined the shades selection as if the furniture was covered with gray snow .
It was also used a particular American wallpaper that uses a special technology .
The paper is painted in different layers which are sprayed after with gold painting. It seems that a layer emerges from below the other one, as if there were ancient castle walls in front of you .
In the lobby, the floor is made by stone while in the other rooms is in gray - silver oak wood.
This color is also in the upholstery .
The decor was instead determined by the choice of a showcase placed in the dining room that the customer found during one of his trips to Italy, from SCULPTURE & DESIGN in Milan.
This showcase presents an interesting and unusual materials combination:
a structure with a magnificent sculpture , in combination with mirror inserts .
This important piece has defined the way for the selection of the other furniture , such as the bedroom decoration.
The bed with high carved headboard combined with the mirror plays this bedroom up as one of the fairy-tale castle stories .
The finished project has highlighted the effect that they wanted to give: a
