Canvas of Life

Art and design enjoy a symbiotic relationship. Art influences design and takes it beyond functionality alone Good design has always drawn inspiration from art for its form , texture and tones. We believe that good, responsible design is a functional expression of art. Art forms the very core of our design aesthetics, for art must have a heart. We celebrate this synergy of art and design by collaborating with the celebrated artist Manisha Gawade.

    Story Teller, the bookcase

This beautifully crafted design is truly worthy of the books it holds within : The doors have been painstakingly created by joining small pieces of turned wood. The brass body and the specially created “distressed “ red surface on the inside add to the charisma of the charming façade.

    Translations, the writing table

The writing table is where thoughts converge to become stories and ideas come alive. The suspended painted drawer features a lyrical painting by artist Manisha Gawade from her popular series Mindscapes of Mindscapes. The table stands on elegant metal cast in brass that are textured from inside and smooth on the outside. The side panels hold the glass top.

    The Unwinding Bar

One of the most wonderful way to celebrate relationships is to get together and share a drink. The bar- Unwinding- provides the perfect setting for many such occasions. Artist Manisha Gawade’s painting from the series “The Threads of Life” on the shutter surface of the cabinet, represents the myriad threads of relationships that are entwined with the warp and weft of life itself. The painting opens up cleverly to reveal a gorgeous yet sleek wine rack & shelves in solid teak wood. Each section has been designed carefully and flawlessly refined to make this piece functional, elegant and artistic.

    Forest Brew, Coffee Table

The heart of the living room, the centre of warm, gracious conversations is the coffee table. This piece has 16 parts; each uniquely singular from the other and part of a larger whole that come together in many ways like our relationships. The logs have been stained in their pristine form, textured lightly and inlaid brushed brass.
