PROJECT LOCATION: Ahmedabad.
SITE LOCATION: Site is located on the 10th floor of High rise multi-dwelling residential structure with concept of Penthouse with 2 bedrooms with huge terrace garden on the 11th floor in central area called vijay cross road of Ahmedabad.
PROJECT SIZE: The total carpet area of the penthouse including all terrace garden is 8000 sq.ft approx .(Covered Built up area-5000 sq.ft )
PROJECT SCOPE: The project scope included civil renovation, dismantling of non required walls, and interiors of 3 bedrooms,living room ,dining & family lounge with double height puja area with areas covered with all projected balconies around the rooms.
Renovation of the project started with client’s brief of renovating just one room for his son which was about to get married which required dismantling of major portion of internal walls to fulfil the requirement of lavish toilet with attached dressing and a bedroom with a size of suite room.
The existing layout had very less chances of fresh air & ventilation though there was an attached terrace garden adjoining to the room.
The Non-load bearing walls were dismantled for the beautiful morning view just outside adjoining to the room which was not thought off in earlier civil design planning.
The same concept was applied to the daughter’s room which
had a beautiful scenic view of urban scape of happening cross road as that of marine drive .Central column was highlighted with some floral motifs instead of cladding it with artificial materials.The daughter’s room had always that pink,magenta factor which is always required present from toddler daughter to a teenager daughter.
And after successful completion of son’s room there was always a competition between the siblings to have better furnished room than the other. The images of existing facilities vis-a-vis the final images are explained which are self explanatory.
The existing huge space of living room ,dining ,covered balconies ,double height puja room were earlier planned with multiple seating spaces with division between dining & family lounge which created dullness in living space of about 1500 sq.ft.of area.
Keeping in mind the outerview with curvilinear shape, the design thought process of semicircular curtain pelmets gave a perfect shape to an unbalanced volume of area. Client wanted the Living room to be larger than life perspective view with all material to be used and detailing to hit the bull’s eye.
An 8000 sq.ft of old and dilapidated penthouse apartment was refurbished to meet the growing better needs of the client family. Every space in house was in a state of deterioration and was much needed to be attended. Existing facilities was just placed for the sake of its usage without any aesthetic appeal.
Every corner of the house has been redesigned with required civil changes to provide maximum flexibility and more usages with concept of less is more.
The less is more concept is a mixture of modern & contemporary styles for different areas which also reflects the profession of the client.
Floors and walls are in straight minimalistic lines with basic colours compositions of earthen mushroom shades and bright tint of fresh feel. Bright added tint is t break the monotony of earthen colours.
Centrally road facing living ,dining ,bedroom Penthouse apartment is located in the heart of the city.
Use of reflective material,subdued earthern colours ,carved wooden partitions and laser cut panels gives it a rich contemporary ambience as a whole.
