Tilers in Vadodara

How do you maintain and clean tiles at home? If you’re a novice at this, then read through our article and you’ll know all the hacks that you need. From the cost of hiring tilers to the different tiles to use in kitchens, we’ve narrowed down on what works best for you!

Cleaning and maintaining tiles

There are a number of ways that you can keep your tiles spotless and bright. You can either vacuum and dust your tiles, and remember to never use a straw broom which is commonly used in india to sweep your tiles, they can leave nasty scratch marks on them which won’t go. Swab down your tiles with water once a week. You can even use a tile cleaner. You should also dry your floor up immediately after swabbing it, otherwise it can leave chemical stains behind. If oil has dropped onto the tile, then clean it up as soon as possible. Use doormats and carpets wherever possible so that your expensive tiles stay protected from external influences. Once in a month or every season you can give your tiles a nice deep clean. Clean the bits between the tiles and remove the dirt from it, you’ll also have to ensure that all the grout has been removed.

Cost of hiring a tiler

The cost of floor tiling depends primarily on the type of tiles that you choose, the cost of labour work, the cost of materials (Sand, cement, plaster etc.) used during tiling, the surface area that needs to be covered, debris removal etc. The cost of laying the tile out could vary from rupees 25 to 45 per square feet. Tiles can cost between 55 to rupees 120 per square feet, the cost of fixing materials can be between rupees 20 to 50 per square feet, and the cost of new tiles transport can be between rupees 2000 to 5000. This means that you could be paying a total of 150 to 200 rupees to a tiler per square feet, and the rest of the quotation will depend on the surface area you want covered and the materials that you use as tiles.

Choosing the right tile for your kitchen

Tiles are becoming the most popular choice for covering walls and floors. Tiles are available in a wide variety of textures, materials, and colors. You can also choose the kind of tile that you want depending on your budget. Some tiles are more expensive than others so choose wisely. Tiles are easy to install and it’s a hassle-free process which doesn’t lead to too much of fuss. Tiles are most commonly used in the kitchen area. Here are a list of tiles that can be the perfect space for your culinary zone. Some tiles have a high moisture absorption rate whereas some have a low moisture absorption rate. For a kitchen, it’s always advisable to have tiles with a high moisture absorption rate.

Natural stone

Natural stones tiles can be installed on floors as well as on walls. However, make sure that the area where these are being installed do not have too much exposure to water. These tiles are ideal for the dining areas. These are available in 6x6 inch size and in stones, including slate, granite, marble, etc.

Glazed tiles are used only for wall installation. Mostly available in 4x4 inch tile size, glazed tiles are also humidity resistant, making them apt for kitchen installation. However, with PIE (Porcelain Enamel Institute) ratings of I and II, these tiles are not strong enough to withstand footfall.

These tiles are widely used for kitchen flooring given these are unglazed making them high on friction. These tiles have a COF rating of 0.80, higher than that of ceramic tiles. These highly-slip resistant tiles are available in 3x3 inch and 12x12 inch sizes. However, the high friction also makes these tiles attract dirt easily. So, make sure you invest in a dark-coloured quarry tile, preferably brick red.

Easy on the eyes, mosaic tiles add enhance the beauty of your kitchen walls and flooring. These are considered good for flooring as these have strong friction and are easy to clean due to the grouts in the design. Given how creatively these can be used, these come in 1x1-inch and 2x2-inch sizes. These are also available in square as well as hexagonal shapes.
