I stumbled across Cedar Creek when we were searching for a home in Johnson County. Our family was relocating to KS from the East Coast. During a Parade of Homes tour, I found the beautiful model homes but upon further research and more visits, I’m glad we didn’t move here. My mother in law (husband’s mom) is handicapped and she had no way of touring the clubhouse with us, so she sat in the car. What happened to handicap accessibility? For the large neighborhood they only had two smaller swimming pools and when we visited the pools, we saw that two children had badly cut feet after swimming there. We saw on the news later that the pools were temporarily shut down! One of the neighbors we ran into while looking around said the HOA kept increasing HOA dues with a lack of accountability on why they were significantly increasing dues. I’m not surprised by this statement by the state of the clubhouse and amenities they keep hyping up. We ended up buying in a nearby neighborhood. Buyers please beware and do your research!

Revising this due to error. Ken with Cedar Creek Realty did an amazing job in helping on our purchase and the sale of our other home. The best experience I've ever had working with any realtor.

The "Resort style living" you thought you were going to get is a fantasy. What a joke. They show pictures of Shadow Glen, tout it as an amenity, but it's about 30k to join and 11k a month. Unless you do not live in the neighborhood, then you get a discount?! Also, the "gym" is worse than what you would find in a high school basement, and with the addition of thousands of new residents with the new addition, there's ZERO ROOM at the pool, so be ready to head elsewhere. If you thought you could move here and drop your gym membership, lounge at the pool, and get in 18 holes, you're in the wrong community. Head over to Lakeview in Lee's Summit. They ACTUALLY have amenities, a beautiful well planned area with soccer fields, a lake residents have fun on, a golf course that residents can use, and a gym that functions. There so seems to be a lot of drama going on with where the HOA dues are going. From what I've seen they certainly aren't going into increasing the number of amenities to support all of the new homes being built.
