The original building is an ornately decorated Victorian terrace property located in Stoke Newington. The occupants wanted to transform the house into a six bedroom home with and open plan kitchen living area.
The first of two construction phases was an extensive repair and renovation of the existing property, re-establishing many of the original features.
For the second phase we proposed a side return extension to create a full width glazed opening onto the rear terrace. The new glazing is bespoke, made from solid oak and projects from the rear face of the property to maximise daylight. The terrace has been constructed from railway sleepers and helps connect the exterior to the interior living spaces.
