Alrewas Architecture Ltd. Formed in April 2014, to complete the development of Mellor Barns.
Debbie Glancy worked for Associated Architects Ltd, Birmingham for 7 years, until April 2014 when she left to form a new practice, initially to complete the building works and also to concentrate on local development within and around Alrewas, Staffordshire. The practice has secured a number of projects as a result of the development.

Description of Project
Mellor Barns was the conversion and new build of a barn & cow shed in a conservation area to form a 300m2 family dwelling.
The building comprises 2 storey existing building and a new build single storey. A ‘knuckle’ joins the two buildings.
Accommodation includes open plan kitchen/dining, living space, play room, bedrooms and open plan hall.
The building occupies the original footprint of the farm ancillary buildings and retains views onto the Trent and Mersey canal and surrounding green field land.
The build includes Porotherm blocks, wood burning stove, underfloor heating, 17 solar panels, U-values to exceed current BR standards, achieving EER ‘B’.
An ‘A’ rating was sought however the EER of 87 was a welcome result.
