This cupboard was originally designed for an exhibition in 1992 to celebrate British Craftsmanship in Wood and to
launch the book of the same title. The inspiration for the design came from the Cape Dutch furniture of South Africa.
It was constructed using a combination of steamed and unsteamed Beech with Rosewood stringing around the
drawer fronts & handles. I later remade the cupboard, shown here, using Maple & Cherry and documented
the process for an article in The Woodworker magazine.
