The building is located in a residential area marked by an irregular texture, both in terms of density and type of dwellings. The plan of the building is obtained by subtraction, a simple rectangle where closed volumes, articulated to form a T shape, are countered by the spaces of the two yards, enclosed on three sides by walls creating true green “rooms”, protected but open. The first, facing south, opens on the main front thanks to the interruption of the eastern boundary wall. The kitchen and the living room on the ground floor overlook it, as well as the bedrooms on the first floor. The second yard opens to the west. The threshold, defining the limit separating the garden, underlines the volumetric value of empty spaces in the layout, as if reaffirming their nature of small artificial landscapes interiorised in a new domestic intimacy. Further thresholds define, on the ground floor, the passage between indoors and outdoors of the residence. A white volume leaning outwards from the northern face, standing out on the brick façade, highlights the entrance. From the living room, access to the yard is mediated by moving back the boundary glass wall, creating a further empty space corresponding, on the first floor, to the main bedroom loggia.
