The residence at Faridabad was designed in close consultation with the client who wanted a place which could serve well as a retirement home as well as a place where they could see their grandchildren being brought up. The site is located in Haryana, Faridabad in a neighbourhood of row houses of approximate site 4500 Sqft. each.

The client has a strong traditional taste of ‘Aangan’/Courtyard house typology. At the same time, their children perceive their dream house as per modern norms. Hence to amalgamate the design ideas of two generations & to satisfy both of them was a challenge in itself. With a huge double height drawing room, which visually connects the whole upper floor to ground floor & large sky-light we created a virtual modern courtyard house. In totality, the design creates spaces which are dynamic in functional usage as well as satisfy the aesthetic needs of both the generations.
