Little italy pune modern balcony, veranda & terrace by aijaz hakim architect [aha] modern | homify

Located in a popular suburb of Pune, the Restaurant is new, open and inviting with an interplay of simple, modern elements.

The restaurant has two levels with the buffet counter being the central feature on the lower level and a bar on the upper level. A small outdoor car parking leads to a glass canopy box demarcating the entrance.

As you enter the restaurant, a backlit partition and staircase lobby open to a 6 meter high grand dining area. This existing height was an opportunity to capitalise on the city’s pleasant tropical climate and natural light, adding simple screens and a large wooden profile.

The undulating ceiling with cove lighting and the hanging lights are the signature element by the designer. Wooden partitions with service counters and granite columns, located in different areas in the grand hall, break the space to regulate the clientele of Italian cuisine lovers.

The upper level was designed as per the client’s thought to provide a flexible lounge diner. A fully functioning granite finished bar with DJ console, backlit shelves, as well as flexible buffet counters and induction cook tops, give this level a whole new experience from the one below. The addition of the concert lights and speaker system completes the party space. The double – wall insulates the noise from the upper floor to other areas and all one sees is the brilliant view of the city. The result is a much-needed balance of drama and simplicity to the neighbourhood.
