It's no secret; everyone loves a beautiful bathroom. We each have a checklist of things we dream about in our ideal oasis of relaxation: ample light, ventilation, storage space, a big shower or bath, elaborate tile work, and a big mirror to see ourselves at every angle. In an ideal world, our own bathrooms would be described like this, but the truth is, we are constricted to designing within available space, existing elements and of course, a budget. Those factors don't necessarily mean we cannot have the bathroom of our dreams. Therefore, today on homify, we are going to take a look at some stunning examples of bathroom design ideas that you can hopefully implement into your own plans.

Marvellous marble

Marble is synonymous with luxury and style, and it is no wonder that there are myriad of faux marble options on the market today as a more affordable option. If you are one of the lucky ones who can afford to clad your walls, basin and floors in marble, then you will love the pictured image by Class Apart. Just look at that magnificent vein that swirls and rises like wind through sand. Here, you can clearly see the aging process in the marble, and know that your bathroom is unique and one of a kind. So as not to detract from this stunning feature, the other fixed elements in the space have been kept relatively muted. Thin mirrors, simple basins and single toned cupboards come together to create this opulent and calm wash area.

Splash out

If you love colour, why not express it in every room in your home? Inclusive of the bathroom! Gone are the days when it was trendy for a bathroom to be all-white, nowadays, anything and everything goes. From wall decals to wallpaper, you can let your creative license run wild when it comes to a material colour palette for your bathroom. As you can see, interior design specialists The Ashleys, have put together a bright and vibrant space that is worthy of a modern and contemporary home. The uniquely shaped storage units and fixtures further add to the creativity and out of the box concept that we can see. The white, silver and deep magenta colour scheme is quirky and exciting, and is a great example of how you can combine your favourite colours into one of your most prized spaces.

It was only a matter of time that the trend of free-standing bathtubs would translate into other bathroom fixtures. This dual set of stone basins by Stonesmiths, is a great feature that will add interest and modernity to any bathroom. Having an almost historical feel, these basins negate the need for under sink storage and a fixed counter. This is a great way to keep the space open and easy to maintain. With a layout like this, there will never bee a fight over the mirror and basin in the morning again!

Plush Colours

In this opulent bathroom by Zero9, no detail has been spared. From the biscuit colour tiling on the walls, to the ornate mirror, all the way down to the decorative pattern on the toilet bowl, every inch of space has additional detail applied. This example shows that you don't need a minimalist bathroom for it to be beautiful and eye-catching. In fact, this space, although small, looks warm and inviting; two words that should be used to describe the perfect bathroom. We know that after looking at this image, you will definitely take away some inspiration from one or more of the decorations that make up this beautiful bathroom.

Set in stone

Marble isn't the only visually stunning stone material for a bathroom, there is also Quartz, Traventine, Limestone and Granite. Anzalna Trading Company, have a huge range of different stone for the bathroom, and even living pieces available. Just like marble, these other stones have unique, naturally occurring veins and imperfections that marry together to create a one of a kind feature. If we look back through history, the bathroom chambers of the elite and royal were always constructed from stone. And it is no surprise why. Stone is durable, hard wearing and water resistant. As homeowners, you just need to consider which type suits your needs and budget best. Don't forget that just like every other material that has been derived from nature, from time to time it will require sealing and a little maintenance.
