The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in the home. It is a space we go to relax, cleanse our minds and rid our bodies of the stress and anxiety felt during the day. Most of the time, half-asleep, we make our way through the space to wash up for the day ahead. Given that there are so many beautiful possibilities for a bathroom, this is a shame. Just like the living room and bedroom, it is a space that should be enjoyed and it should make you feel revitalised and energised.

Today, we are going to have a look at some bespoke versions of bathroom ideas. These bathrooms, other than being visually stunning, possess qualities such as beautiful craftsmanship, stonework and of course, excellent interior design. It can be difficult to decorate a space which is both personal and private, so, let's take a look at see how some of India's homify experts think it should be done.

Marble marvels

A modern bathroom is the desire of many. This example, with both its floor and walls clad in bespoke black marble, it radiates elegance and class. Marble is one of the most popular choices for a bathroom, and it is not difficult to see why. It is durable, sturdy and resistant to most stains. When a glossy finish is applied, it also becomes far less porous, which means you don't have to worry about getting makeup caught between the grout. This marvelous use of marble has been complemented perfectly with the subtle shower screen, and minimalist sink and toilet. After all, such a wonderful decorative element should take centre stage.

Blue moon

A white bathroom is forever elegant and chic. It is of course, also the easiest to keep clean. When you are not battling with expensive surfaces and stone, you can easily wipe up liquids and grime. In saying this, a white colour scheme need not be sterile and banal. By simply injecting a pop of colour, as pictured, you can instantly add life and vibrancy to a space. On top of this, the designers have cleverly added a wall of timber behind the bathtub which acts a both a decorative element and additional storage unit. A perfect bathroom for a family with busy schedules!

The time you spend in the bathroom is supposed to be relaxing; but if you dread the thought of laying in a bubble bath for hours, or spending half an hour under the shower, you have the possibility to let your eyes wander around this beautiful wall map, and imagine what secrets and amazing elements each continent hides. If you have children, this is a great way to integrate learning and education into a daily activity. Otherwise, if you are dreaming of a vacation, and perhaps a holiday on a boat, each day when you shower, you can let your mind wander off.

Soak away

If trips to the spa are not as frequent as you would like, because your work and family schedules are simply too busy or not time permitting, you can bring the feel of a dayspa into your own home. Here, you don't need to worry about booking appointments, or rushing to make them. When you have a spare half an hour to yourself, you can run the bath, and let you worries and troubles simply float away. We love the varying stone tiles on the wall which due to their sandy colour, make the space feel warm and inviting. You can also see how the simple addition of candles in the corner further adds to this relaxing and restorative ambience.

Gold has always been associated with luxury and glamour, and it really makes a difference when added to a bathroom. Just because it is a room where cleansing and hygiene takes places, doesn't mean it can't radiate with highly decorative elements like the mirror in the photo. The bronze tiles at the base of the sink, are complemented perfectly by the mirror, which becomes a standout feature in this bathroom design. The elongated sink is a bespoke and unique element to the space also, and, not to mention, the tap, which follows the sink in scale and shape. The other factor which you may not have noticed at first glance, is lighting behind the shower unit. A moody and sultry way to add ambience to your daily shower routine.
