The sole purpose of creating a perfect restaurant design is to attract the attention of new customers and keep longtime patrons engaged. While the success of home interiors can be gauged based on compliments showered by visitors, for commercial spaces such as retail outlets and restaurants, it can be assessed by the number of new guests that walk in to try it out. Therefore, the restaurant interiors should have an ambience that enhances the guests’ experience and encourages them to return. This charming and spacious cake boutique in Bangalore has been designed by the interior designers and decorators of 3A Architects. It ticks all the boxes in terms of a welcoming atmosphere, comfortable seating and attractive exteriors.
The soothing combination of yellow, cream and brown on the walls and furnishings reflect the business concept. Cake boutiques are generally popular among youngsters who look for a fuss-free ambience that is charming and comfortable. The cash register area is quirkily designed with the pushcart reminiscent of the days of yore when vendors sold cakes and pastries on carts on the streets.
With its glass exteriors, bamboo barricades and industrial style lighting the cafe looks incredibly inviting from outside. It has a perfectly arresting design that piques the curiosity of people passing by, urging them to walk in and explore it.
Food, lighting and atmosphere play crucial roles in restaurant design. The presence of the giant tree with lush foliage just outside the cake boutique was capitalised upon by creating a glass facade that makes the tree look like a part of interiors. Keeping the showcase close to the glass facade was a smart move as it gives people walking by teasing glimpses of the lip-smacking delights.
The designers have used every square foot of space available to create a cosy and inviting atmosphere. A closer look at the seating arrangement shows low colourful cushioned pouffes around industrial style wooden tables. As the focus is on creating intimate areas for conversations, the seating arrangement has sufficient space between tables to offer privacy. Drop-down industrial style lighting and ambient ceiling lights keep the region bright and inviting.
The designers have created the perfect setting with seating shaped like cupcakes, where patrons can sit comfortably while they eat cakes and pastries. The delightful combination of soothing colours on the furniture, open spaces around the seating areas and bamboo decorations come together to create a unique interior design concept. The region facing the road has been given a glass facade while windows facing the indoor corridor have the double protection of glass and a grey iron grill, keeping with the colour palette of the boutique. The seating in the waiting area is designed to resemble a delicious ice cream sandwich.
An essential feature of every fast food outlet is to keep interiors light and comfortable while serving a diverse platter of food items. The service areas have been placed against the wall giving the boutique a clutter-free look. The neutral tones on the polished tile floor and walls lend the interiors a glossy finish, making it different from the typical wood floors used in commercial spaces.
As the cake boutique is located on the first floor, and not the street level, the chief task before the decorators was to create an outlet with pleasant and exciting interiors that would bring back regular patrons and also attract a steady flow of casual customers. The attractive design of the interiors and the welcoming exteriors achieve the goal, presenting an ideal setting for friends and family to relax and chat while relishing the sweet delicacies on offer.
