Let’s tour a unique home in Heritage city, Gurugram. This fantastic project has been conceptualised and designed by Eagle Décor, a team of Interior Designers & Decorators in Gurugram. The home has some beautiful elements reflecting traditional design, which is absent in most modern residences these days. Each room is unique and offers inspiration for anyone looking for ideas to decorate a home.
In the bedroom, simplicity and elegance combine beautifully. The red-tinged wood flooring is stunning. The accompanying woven rug has traditional patterns that tie the look together. The bedroom has a window on one end, which allows sunlight to fall on the bed. The side tables hold beautiful wooden, hand-painted lamps.
The beautiful door mounted on one side of the wall is another traditional piece similar to those used in old homes in India. Here, it has been turned into a gorgeous décor item. Painting it brown and gold makes it stand out in the room, creating a focal point.
In this corner, the beautiful sofa is quite traditional in terms of design. The wooden frame has been hand-carved and the seat upholstered to create a comfortable area to sit. The accompanying armchairs are upholstered in a lighter coloured fabric to create a contrast.
The traditional elements have been combined with modern ones. The seating area has both types of furniture. The suede-upholstered sofa in a beautiful shade of light grey is stunning and modern. It suits the overall theme very well. The coffee table in the centre, made of wood, is another unique design that fits quite into the space. The traditional hand-woven rug below the table gives the room a cosy feel.
The home has two levels that are connected by a stylish wooden staircase. The dark, polished wood of the stairs complements the rest of the design. Of particular note here is the flooring, made of square tiles in an alternating ochre and white. The checkerboard flooring is reminiscent of the art deco period.
The area below the stairs is filled with some interesting items. It features beautiful brass pots, a simple wooden sofa with printed cushions and a TV. The artworks on the walls use wood frames that match the material of the staircase, bringing continuity to the design.
Lastly, we come to this quaint corner, where the designers have used furniture from an old house and converted it into a fantastic décor piece. The large wall-mounted mirror is designed to hold bar accessories. The area makes for a perfect bar, with a marble table that serves as the bar top where drinks can be placed. We love the innovative use of traditional pieces in the entire house.
