Today, we look at a lovely home that transformed to get a more contemporary look. It had been lived in for almost a decade and badly needed an update. The renovation project was undertaken by the interior designers and decorators of Orizzonte Interiors Private Limited, New Delhi. The gorgeous home in South Delhi was completely redesigned to make it a new, vibrant and exciting living space. It is an excellent example of how you can completely change the look of an existing home.
A sitting room is a place where people are welcomed into the home. Here, the rectangular room has been designed to make the conversation flow. What attracts attention is the large and beautiful artworks hung on the walls. They set the tone for the ambience in the room. The sofas are comfortable and luxuriously large.
A small corner in the sitting room has been designed as the bar. A nook has been created against the wall using wood panelling. The glass tiles in the background and the glass shelves are perfect as it makes the small space look open and spacious. Simple ledges and a small counter complete the look of the compact and attractive bar.
The walls and the ceiling have been kept neutral and simple. It is essential to play down certain aspects of the room to showcase other things. Here, a simple wood border at the end of the room is all that has been used to contrast the lighter tones. The door leading to another room makes quite an impression with its deep brown colour.
The open kitchen design works wonderfully well in this space. The black counters stretching all the way around makes the room look distinctly modern. Barstools stand at the extended countertop that serves as a breakfast corner.
One of the most attractive features in the transformation is the lighting. Not only do the false ceiling designs make an impression, but the extra lighting adds a modern look and brightness to these spaces.
The simple, traditional yet attractive dining table sits right outside the kitchen. It keeps with the overall theme as the rustic and natural wood matches the wood ceiling in the kitchen, ensuring consistency and fluidity in the design.
The colours, the tone, the accents and the textures all contribute to making this bedroom look relaxing. The cushioned headboard in a lovely tan colour is perfect as it complements the simple motifs and soft colours in the furnishings and the wallpaper.
