Homes are generally a reflection of the homeowner! While one may have great taste in picking the right things to decorate the house beautifully, the designing of the rooms within the home is best left to professionals. Translating the homeowner’s vision into reality is not always possible especially when there are many variables to work with such as labour, civil work, carpentry and many other aspects. In this home, the professional interior designers and decorators of 3A Architects Inc have done an exceptional job by giving the clients what they needed in terms of space planning, design and execution of the project. At the cost of Rs.12,00,000, the designers have created a home that is stylish and comfortable.
The lovely sitting room has just enough space for seating the family or when entertaining guests. The designers have made smart use of space by using a custom-designed settee that resembles a sectional sofa. Arranging it flush against the wall has freed up the room for a centre table and other decorative elements.
A broader view of the sitting room gives an idea of how well the designers have planned the layout. They have paid close attention to the lighting as each of the lights has been carefully calibrated based on its functionality.
While the heavy wood dining table occupies a prime spot in the room, everything else is designed around it. The large mirror opposite the dining table creates an illusion of space, and the exclusive and premium lighting has been curated based on the lumen output required by the client.
The kitchen features white membrane panels on the cabinets and built-in accessories. The white and black colour combination works well to give the kitchen a modern and clutter-free look.
Premium GVT (Glazed Vitrified Tiles) has been used for the walls in the kitchen, and this has elevated the look of the space. It beautifully matches the black counters and white cabinets.
While the services of professionals come at a premium price, the final result more than makes up for it, as the remodelling of this kitchen demonstrates. The kitchen, which was initially designed by the builder to cover 60 sq ft, was cleverly altered to add an extra 20 sq ft. All this was accomplished through the ingenious designing of cabinets without any civil corrections, although the plumbing and electrical lines had to be altered to give the space a modern upgrade.
Custom design is ideal for furniture as it meets the requirements of modern families. A large master bedroom is not of much use without adequate storage. After analysing the space, the designers identified a corner of the room for tucking away a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe. As a result, the wardrobe size became 64 sq ft as opposed to 58 sq ft as per conventional design layouts, thereby giving the homeowners an additional 8 sq ft of storage. A combination of elements, including aluminium, glass, mirrors and ply, have been used in the shutters to create a dramatic effect.
