Commercial art studios should embody creativity so that they inspire artists and visitors alike. Today, we visit an art studio in New Delhi to explore its interior design. When the Interior Designers & Decorators of M.U. Interiors were handed the responsibility of designing a studio they went about it methodically. Every inch of space in the studio reflects the style and character for which the centre was intended. The mood has been further enhanced with the right type of lighting. The industrial look and the rustic setup makes for a charming and modern space that is attractive and functional.
The room presented here may appear dark, but the design has been kept minimalist and modest considering the purpose it has to serve. It can serve as an exceptional space for dancers with lessons being easy and super fun as the young trainees can watch themselves in the mirror to learn or adjust their posture. The large mirror that extends along the wall serves as the ideal accent feature. It makes the room look spacious and is exceptionally functional as well. The ceiling and the other wall has been used to set up fans and different kinds of lights.
The large wall on the opposite side has granite and a stone-like finish. The logo and the name of the centre stand proud and visible against the façade. A brief look at the ceiling provides a clear perspective of how the designers have worked with contrasting elements to give a perfect look to this space. The wood on the ceiling helps to drown out loud sounds while the dance and music sessions are being conducted.
Keeping the walls bare is a beautiful way of drawing attention to other features. Here, the walls feature a lovely soft slate grey. While it may seem dull, it has been beautifully off-set by the wood flooring. The contrast has the effect of brightening up space and giving it a clean look. The simple style of the ceiling also gives it a well-designed appearance. Extra lighting in the ceiling is the perfect way to keep the energy high in such spaces.
In studios, it is essential to have enclosed spaces in varying sizes as it allows for classes to be conducted in tandem, ensuring the optimal use of resources. This room stands out from the rest because the floor, as well as the wall colour, is different from the rest of the centre. The dark blue gives the room a distinguished appearance. A simple table sits adjacent to the wall, providing a convenient workspace as well.
