Duplex homes are making a huge comeback and one of the reasons for this is the ability to design with a little bit more abandon. Also, displaying your creativity is a little easier when you have different levels to do so. Here, this lovely duplex home has been put together by the architects of Geometrixs Architects and Engineers, Bangalore. There is a wonderful display of simple and sophisticated choice as far as colours, patterns and accents are concerned. This is a home that seems balanced and harmonious on all levels.

Cosy first look

This is a pretty sight to behold as you approach the home. The home looks balanced as it seems to have the right amount of open spaces along with constructed space. The large windows have been accentuated by the simple use of wood frames and modest patterns. The garage sits right outside the home and this makes it functional.

Charming entryway

The entrance to the home may look modest but it does exude a certain charm. This area reflects the simplistic tastes of the homeowners. The subtle effect of the dark and elegant colour of the wood on the door, windows and the stairs brighten this area.

Sophisticated sit out

This is a pretty part of the house which features a lookout into the garden side of the home. The soft rug on the floor sets the tone as everything else seems to be designed around it. The simple and comfortable chairs match the elegance of the soft and luxurious sofa. A rustic wood console sits elegantly to one side of the wall.

Functional kitchen

This is a lovely and modern kitchen which is reflected in the use of white as the dominant tone. The white has been used intermittently as it has been contrasted with translucent doors which contrast the pattern and the style quite well. Tall and short wardrobes contrast each other creating perfect synchrony of shapes and design.

Gorgeous stairway

The stairway to the next level is charming while being modest in its overall design. A simple stone staircase is accentuated by the use of metal and glass in the handrails. A contrasting colour against the side of the staircase makes this space interesting and beautiful.

Safe and beautiful

Adding the metal columns on the side of the stairs may be done for safety but incorporating design in this is what distinguished it from any other home. The metal columns contrast the stairs and the wood to make it look rustic and chic.

Striking bedroom

This lovely bedroom has warm wood flooring that has been accentuated by a simplistic design for the wardrobe. The translucent texture makes the room look light and bigger. A modest design in terms of the subtle colour on the walls and a small rug completes the room.
