There are several architects but what distinguishes a good one from a mediocre one is the sense of space and the division of space in a way that does not minimise the area but only accentuates it. This home which has been made possible by the architects of SM STUDIO, Mumbai. They have created a beautiful home away from home in lovely hilly regions of Lonavala. A duplex home has a huge advantage of space and here thanks to the greenery and the landscaping the home looks larger than life.
The large windows where some of them even extend into the ceiling ensure that there is enough natural light and air. The green on the walls is a reflection of the needs of the client to stay as close to nature as possible.
The first look of the bungalow tells you more than just a short story. Here, the designers have chosen to present a calm and simple exterior. The home looks so in line with nature and thanks to the open design, the feel is the same too. Here, by using a lighter colour palette and interesting ideas, they have managed to put together a well-designed home.
The home itself is a lovely combination of textures and elements helping in giving the right kind of look and feel. Here, a wonderful use of stone has been combined with wooden accents to create a rustic and traditional feel to the house.
This large area almost has a cinematic appearance thanks to the theatre styled drapes in the room. This has been further accentuated by the large chandelier which is not only pretty but contributes a royal look here. The dining chairs and the sofas match to give a composed and balanced look.
Blue represents the sea and the calm you feel near it. Here, by using various shades of blue, the architects have fashioned a bedroom that is elegant and stylish. The room is kept simple and modest in design except for the lovely two lamps which hang from the ceiling. The lamps look antique and expensive.
The lovely bedroom here has been composed like a poem. There are dramatic elements like the brass lamps and the subtle ones like the drapes and the sheets. Then again there is the wood which provides consistency and a theme.
The lovely open staircase may be scary to climb as it seems almost only suspended by rope but it is surely a pleasure to the eye! It winds its way up to the terrace for excellent and gorgeous views of the hills.
