The Doshi Residence is designed by Architecture Continuous, who are architects in the cosmopolitan city of Bangalore. Well-known for its gardens, and now the fast development and pollution, this home in Bangalore has prioritised natural ventilation and light over style and design. The designers have worked wonders in their play and layout to come up with this stunning final version. Let’s take a look.
We love the while concept of this room. The modern living area is lit so well by natural light. The glass and wooden windows are the replacement for concrete walls. Since the homeowners wanted natural light and ventilation, this seems like a great idea. An elegant centre table accompanies the set of sofas.
We love the entryway into the home. The designers have placed a stunning aquarium so that the first thing guests look at. Soft purple lighting adds to the charm of this home.
While sticking to the brief, the designers got a little creative as well. The row of small lights beneath the staircase is a smart idea. The wooden staircase is well lit even at night! The supporting glass wall along the staircase leads up to a glass balcony.
From here, we see the fantastic elevation. The double elevation looks stunning with the use of glass panes everywhere. The glass windows and the freshness of the outdoors to seep into the house.
The home is a vista of open spaces. The modern living room itself is beautifully decorated with simple sofas that look quite elegant. The green colour scheme keeps up with the nature theme preferred by the homeowners.
Looking from the outside into the house, we see how vast the area is. The homeowners have all the modern amenities, but no clutter. That says a lot about their preference regarding what to place in the home and what not to. The ceiling design is beautiful and elegant, with a few lights lined up.
This is the home office and all we can say is what a view! The beautiful glass wall allows one to work peacefully while enjoying views of the garden. A set of glass doors leads into the office. The wooden flooring, round table and working desks that are foldable are all space saving ideas for the home office. We would definitely sit here and work.
The minimalist bedroom has been furnished with an earthy pallet as well. The designers have stayed close to the green and brown colour scheme in order to reflect nature. A large lamp is fixed into the centre of the room. The wardrobe, with wooden doors, is placed on one side of the room.
The bathroom is quite modern and yet, the designers have made sure natural light is allowed to come in. There is a tub and shower panel on the side, along with all the necessary modern fittings.
