Interior decoration is seen as an effort at creating an aesthetically pleasing space and making it functionally useful for all, using both art and science. Designers try to combine various facets to form a stylish look.Current interior designers in India are making great efforts and producing eye-catching homes and offices. Given here is an example of such a strikingly beautiful penthouse project in Mumbai, called Sand Dunes, built by accomplished interior designer house, Mahesh Punjabi Associates, who have their headquarters in Bombay.

Living Room with High Ceilings

A penthouse gives the designer maximum opportunity to emphasize high ceilings and that is what we see here. Despite the amount of furniture all around the room, it does not look cluttered or congested. As though to accentuate the height and draw your attention to it, a stunning piece of chandelier has been added. Down lights also add a very stylish touch to the beautiful living room.

Designer staircase

Freeing the vision is an important facet of designing and that is what one notices first on entering this spectacular living room. The feeling of open space is also emphasized by use of glass balustrades and simplistic design of the staircase which also has lights attached at the bottom. Neutral colours on walls and furniture are interspersed with colourful cushions and other accessories.

Double Glass Windows

The expanse of double glass windows and long drapes that hang from ceiling to floor, gives the attractive living room a feeling of vastness. There is also the added advantage of ample light coming in through such huge windows.

Mirror on the Ceiling of Passage

As though to continue with the illusion of unrestricted height in the passage, we find the ceilings here are draped in reflective glass. There is also a continuous harp on the use of modern decorative features like glass, steel and other metals.

Unexpected colour in the bathroom

Monotony of neutral colours is broken by this sudden splash of colour of the bench top and the use of coloured glass in the stunning designer bathroom. Earthy copper of the basin seems to gel well with the non-uniform pattern and colours of the mirror frame.

Light features that go with elegant furniture

Simplicity and the spectacular have been wonderfully blended in this corner of the house where slim lines of the furniture stand in stark contrast to the bling and brightness of the lights above. Bright red hue of the flowers enlivens the otherwise simple palette of colours. The theme here is also of elegance that is crisp and modern.

Wood-panelled walls to emphasise a theme

Wood always brings out the best in any room, especially if it is on the walls. Here we see, polished wooden walls that has hidden lights and the feature light-piece that adds oodles of class. Bare minimum handcrafted accessories adorn the room, making sure to take nothing away from the theme of Modernism. If you like this home tour, you are sure to like this one too. 7 inspirational modern bathroom ideas.
