Doors play a vital role in welcoming people to your home, and they really do make an impression as not only do you look at the door, you also touch it and move it, and having physical contact with something leaves more of an impression on your memory. Doors also have the ability to dress up your home and add that special missing ingredient that will make it all fresh and new again.

Although wooden doors are simply gorgeous, it's a pity to block out the abundant natural light we receive generously in India. That's why we love the dynamic design of this door which incorporates horizontal strips of glass that allow sunlight into the home, while still preserving the privacy of the home.

2. Aluminium and wood

The industrial design style is a popular one, especially among the youth and young souls of India. The main essence of this style can be demonstrated through the use of steel or metal, as pictured here. This door is made of aluminium and wood. Aluminium happens to be a relatively cheap material, and in addition to that, it is a highly durable material which requires very little maintenance. Wood, on the other hand requires more maintenance, but it's a fair price to pay for its beauty.

3. Hidden

The minimalist design of this door makes it suitable for modern homes. It also has an element of mystery to it which we love—it is camouflaged and hidden into the bright white walls of the house, making it almost invisible, as if you were walking through a wall. The pivoting opening system makes the experience even more magical as it feels like the walls have just opened up for you.

4. Colourful

There's nothing like an explosion of colour for a warm welcome. In the rustic home pictured here with its natural stone walls, the large bright blue door made of glass and wood really livens up the entrance and gives it a youthful shade. There are also many vintage, decorative doors that would look good on a modern home, if you're trying to lean towards the rustic side of interior design.
