Wouldn't it be great to start your day in a wonderful outdoor space?! Sipping on a cup of tea, maybe some yoga or gymnastics, and all in the surrounds of a beautiful lush garden—what more do you need to ease into each day? Unfortunately, this backyard was a dump and far from conducive to a tranquil outdoor setting nor a good start to the day. The residents turned the bomb site over to the expert hands of HANNAH COLLINS GARDEN DESIGN and the results are stunning. Let's take a look…
Day to day, we tend to accumulate more and more unneeded stuff. In an attempt to rid the home of clutter, it appears the garden was turned into a dump site. Littered with debris, it is an absolute mess.
The debris is piled high. It becomes harder and harder, as more and more junk is accumulated, to imagine the garden in an improved state. But as soon as the slate is cleared all that could change!
And, it's not just the outdoor spaces that are affected by this mess—the living space looks directly onto the dreadful vista.
It's hard to believe we're taking in the same view. It's been completely transformed to create a delightful outdoor living space, perfectly connected to the interior. The exposed brick wall has been brought back to life and is complemented by timber decking and seating. A touch of greenery tops it all off!
The design opts for soft paving colours that look great against the dark wood and grey planter box. The simple gray flower bed is echoed by the exterior wall. Modern style meets rustic materiality—it's a dream match!
The lines of pebbles weave through the concrete paving, breaking it up with a beautiful detailing.
It's always great to opt for local plants that thrive year-round, ensuring easy upkeep. Here, they've chosen a great little mixture that achieves a natural unmanicured look.
All in all, it's absolutely remarkable. You'd hardly believe it's the same space. Now, when you stand at the window, you can enjoy a beautiful vista. And, when you step outside, you can also have your very own private and tranquil oasis.
