The exterior of our home speaks volumes not only about the interior design style, but also about our personal style. The fact of the matter is that the exterior needs just as much attention as the interior, so if you really want to wow your friends and neighbours, it starts at your front door.

Areas like the terrace, balcony, or outdoor dining area look much more appealing and inviting when they have some sort decor items to accentuate them. That's why we'll be exploring a few ways you can up your outdoor decor game and give your property the striking and welcoming vibe you need. From classic to minimalist, everyone can get something from this piece.

Let's get to it!

1. Little additions

This wooden house was built by House Habitat and was made more attractive with simple additions. A small blue and white sofa on the front porch does more than just offer a space to recline and watch the scenery–it also complements the blue and white awning just above. Small and simple splashes of colour like this are sometimes all you need to create a welcoming entrance.

2. Warm hues

The house strikes us with its wonderful use of warm tones. The yellow accent wall accompanies the terracotta tiles and brick wall perfectly. These homeowners even achieved an interesting pattern with the way the tiles were laid. And with the addition of a few potted plants, this exterior feels very friendly.

3. Nice and bright

Two small front gardens with colourful flowers aren't the only things used to decorate this entrance. How about that curved staircase? It doesn't always take decor items to create a space full of interest. Sometimes the structure itself is enough to appeal to us.

4. Refreshing

If you're lucky enough to have one wall of your home consist entirely of windows or sliding glass doors, then you definitely need to boost your lawn decor. That way, even when you're inside, you can take in all the sights right from your living room.

It's important to choose furniture that fits your space, and these outdoor rattan chairs are perfect for any home. But if you're really looking to relax outdoors, you should invest in a swinging lawn chair like the one we see here.

5. Luxurious

Black and white are always a striking combo, so if you have a white façade, dazzle your guests with a black door with intricate designs. You can then offset the door with a few complementing black flower pots. Remember, the bigger your potted plants, the more authoritative the vibe and the classier you look.

6. Above and beyond

This next home really takes outdoor decoration to the extreme. The cement terrace is home to a variety of plants and a couple different seating areas to enjoy a cup of coffee or read a nice book. But that big glass thing attached to the brick house? That's a conservatory, where even more exuberant vegetation is kept.

7. Classic waterfront home

This is a dream home for many people who want to live on the water. The structure extends to the water's edge and floats humbly over it. The interesting decorative element we see here is also due to the building's shape–how many of you can say your home is hexagonal?

8. Tea time

Our last home takes the cake with classical design. A vintage chair and table set merge with the impressive home in the background and create the ultimate luxurious atmosphere. This home also added extraordinary colour in the windows and shudders with a soft periwinkle. The entire space is brought together by the stone garden path.
