This interior is the styling genius of Magenta Trace, an interior design and decoration studio formed in 2006. Headed by Susana Borges and Marta Pereira, the dynamic and creative team have carried out a wide range of projects. Their design finesse has proven itself in both large and small works.
They believe our homes are an extension of who we are, so each and every one of their designs seeks to be personalised to the inhabitant's tastes and wishes. Combining aesthetics and functionality, the designs are individual and engaging. This home is certainly no exception. Come for a tour through the detailed interior of this charming abode and explore the beautiful spaces with us…
The social heart of the home comprises a generous lounge area and an adjacent dining space. The colour palate is comprised predominately of neutrals, but also features a few pops of bold and bright colours.
While the space is reasonably refined, it definitely doesn't shy away from a bit of decadence. From plush furnishings to detailed wallpaper elements, decoration trumps minimalism in this cosy abode.
In addition to the coloured and textured wallpaper, the back wall also features a large mirror that reflects the room and makes it appear even larger than it is.
No surface is left unadorned. Whether it's a lamp, a pot plant, a picture frame, a coffee table book, or a vase; decorative pieces abound, giving the room a distinct personality.
The dining arrangement is equally as decadent and decorative. The glass table is surrounded by lovely blue dining chairs and anchored in place by the two designer light features.
The place settings have an air of fine dining, making it the perfect space for entertaining.
The kitchen takes a more minimalist approach. The abundance of textures, accent colours, and decoration that we saw in the living space is nowhere to be seen in the simple, white kitchen. A refined aesthetic replaces the penchant for decoration.
The bedroom returns to the more decorative end of the spectrum. But, much like the living area, nothing is overdone. A neutral colour palette is offset by the orange patterned material used for the cushions and side bench.
The fur-look rug tops the room off with a final touch of plush decadence. All in all, there's not much to fault in this cosy and inviting bedroom. Or the rest of the home for that matter!
