When we think of a garage, cars, bicycles and tools are what usually come to mind. But have you ever thought of a garage and pictured a stove, a cosy dining area and a kitchen? Thanks to our designers, one garage of 32 square meters became a beautiful kitchen, complete with dining area and pantry! Let's have a look at the transformation.

For a long time, this space was a typical garage, but that soon changed when Florian Hollenbach and his team took charge. During the renovation, the architect took the personal style and taste of the residents into account, and all parties involved agreed on a plan. Before the architect begins a remodelling project, he first makes a design…

The plan

Looking at the reconstruction plan for the kitchen, you can see at first glance how much had to be changed in the garage before the stylish kitchen could be created. New walls had to be cemented, creating a hidden pantry. In addition, appliances, a sink and shelves need to be installed.

The new kitchen

The end result is a kitchen with an adjoining dining area that is tailored to the owners’ individual needs. Stainless steel fittings give the kitchen a cool tone, while the wooden worktops provide warmth. The black wall gives the room extra depth and a stylish, modern touch. The kitchen is divided into two parts, the cooking section and the dining area. And just look at that beautiful large refrigerator!

From another angle

The cooking island makes this kitchen is a cosy, social place. The new wood floors are elegant, robust and ideal for the space. The glass door gives this kitchen a lot of openness and lets in plenty of light, making the room somewhere you would want to spend a lot of your day.

Lighting design

It is a very friendly space, partially thanks to the clever lighting. The ceiling lighting provides an abundance of bright light over the work areas, which is very helpful for cooking. When lighting a kitchen, it is important to highlight the correct textures, angles, surfaces and accessories. When you’re going to be handling knives, you want to be sure you can see well! In addition, light is a powerful way to affect a room’s style.

The fireplace

Of course the highlight of this room is its fireplace. The dining area simply glows thanks to all the wonderful light of the fire. Bioethanol fireplaces are ideal for confined spaces because no smoke is released, making this fire a friend of the environment! Wouldn’t you just love you pull up a chair and relax in this cosy, remodelled kitchen?
