Come with us on a tour of modern Korean home by architects Homestyletoto. This colourful, geometric design utilises a variety of colours, shapes and styles to create a dynamic, yet homely family dwelling.

There’s an almost whimsical element to the home’s design, in that the contrasting shapes and colour schemes of each room and area of the house give the impression of a larger space with multiple identities.  Let’s take a look…

The eye-catching exterior

The eye-catching exterior of the home is comprised of a series of contrasting and interconnecting geometric shapes, as well as a mixture of colours that highlight the different levels of the home.

The colours, and size and placement of the windows provide a sense of symmetry the artistic abode. On a practical note, we can see the home has ample, adjacent parking space.

Intriguing entrance

Moving around the side of the home we come to the entrance. The colourful patio and bold colour scheme exude vitality.

From here it becomes apparent that there’s limited outdoor space around the home, however, this is compensated for in the home’s design by the expensive first floor terrace.

The bright idea

First stop on our tour of the interior is the living room. Not yet fully furnished, it does come come with convenient cabinetry for storage; complete with a desk space to work – a great spot for kids to catch up on their homework.

The room's design is dominated by the unusual light fixture that floods the room with light, while adding a unique character to the space.

A colourful kitchen

The primary thing one notices when entering the kitchen is the striking colour scheme. The bold choice of blue cabinetry has an uplifting effect, and contrasts the red stools in front of the counter to create quite a dramatic impression.

From the practical perspective the size of the countertop means plenty of seating in the kitchen area; perfect for a larger family.

The classic kitchen

Upstairs we find a wonderfully spacious kitchen and living room area, complete with sink, stove and ample storage. However, what’s perhaps most striking about the room are the high ceilings created by the unconventional roof design, and the abundance of light owed to the beautiful light fixtures, and large windows. The glass door at the end of the room leads to the roof terrace overlooking the street outside.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our tour of this unconventional and artistic dwelling. Come with us on another tour to see more creative Korean architecture.
